Good Water Rim Trail, San Rafael Swell, UT

By denis On December 7, 2011 · Leave a Comment

The trail hugs the the rim of Good Water Canyon and follows all its little side drainages presenting the rider with great views again and again. It is a great cross-country ride, however closer to the end, when amazement wears out, the lack of challenges makes it a bit monotonous.

Palisade Rim Construction (Day 2)

By denis On November 13, 2011 · Leave a Comment

The Palisade Rim Trail is now open for bikers and hikers! This weekend more than two dozen trail builders showed up to work on several remaining sections of the singletrack. Thanks to great volunteer turnout and perfect soil condition the work was completed shortly after the lunch break. There is still some work to be done, but the new trail is now ready for recreational traffic.

Dakine’s Warranty Claims

By denis On October 8, 2011 · 3 Comments

Warranty handling is where companies lose money but make names. I had a chance to experience Dakine’s Warranty process with a pair of Step-Up Gloves purchased and reviewed earlier this year. Overall my warranty claim with Dakine was a positive experience. There was no unnecessary jumping through hoops or arguing over the fine print.

Descente Ridge Short

Descente Ridge Short

By denis On September 2, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Descente Ridge is well made sharp looking short for all around mountain biking. The stitching is neat and materials are of high quality. The short is available in several conservative colors (black, charcoal and earth) with few graphical accents. Despite the sizing issue it is one of the better ones that I had. The sale price makes it a great deal too.

Turkey Flats Trail is located 20 miles South-West from Grand Junction in Grand Mesa National Forest. The ride can be considered as beginner technical level with several intermediate sections and intermediate aerobic difficulty.

Blackburn Airstik 3 Pump

By denis On August 5, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Blackburn Airstik 3 is a decent mini pump to have around though a bit heavy. Performance is average, you will have to be very lucky to lock a tubeless tire on the rim, but it will work fine for adding air or with tubes. Dual Stroke design is more of a gimmick, but it makes small difference at lower pressures. The pump is reasonably priced, well built and looks good.
